| Pine Tree 108 Dear Pine Tree Candidate: CONGRATULATIONS! Upon recommendation of your Scoutmaster, you have been
accepted to attend Pine Tree Troop 108 Junior Leader Training course.
The course will be held at Camp Garland (Locust Grove) on Thursday, October
15th thru Sunday, October 18th, 2009. The opening ceremony will be held promptly at 5:30 PM on Thursday, October 15th. The closing ceremony will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, October 18th, 2009.. Your parents, family, and Scoutmaster are invited (and encouraged) to attend both of these formations. You should be ready to depart for home by 5:00 PM on Sunday. All participants are required to attend the full course! If you miss the opening or any part of the course, it cannot be made up. You must be prepared to arrive on time and remain for the entire course time period. Read the enclosed personal equipment list very carefully. Bring everything (and only those things) that appear on the list. It is important that you prepare your uniform to match the required uniform. You MUST be in proper uniform to be admitted to the course. We suggest you read the Patrol Leaders Handbook, and the Scout Fieldbook BEFORE you come to the course. Fill out the medical form and return it to the Scout Service Center by Monday, September14th.. Failure to return this form by the date specified may result in your being dropped from the course. If you cancel your attendance, notify the Scout Service Center as soon as possible 743-6125 or 1-800-367-1272. The Pine Tree Junior Leader Training course will present you with a challenge unlike any other you may have experienced so far in your Scouting career. You will participate in a training adventure you will long remember. Pine Tree prides itself on representing the highest ideals of Scouting. Conduct unbecoming of the Scout Oath or Law has no place at Pine Tree and will not be permitted. You must prepare yourself both physically and mentally now. YOU MUST PRACTICE AND KNOW your basic Scout skills, i.e. knots, lashing, first aid, cooking, fire building, etc., before you attend this course. Be prepared to give 100% effort at all times during the course, regardless of the situation or adversity. Come prepared to have a learning experience! |
